The little church bungalow

We were happy to call this little church bungalow our home for 3 days. We were also extremely excited that the Steeple was, infact crooked. Had the Steeple not been crooked, we would have asked for a refund. The coffee was amazing and the T.U didn’t fall on us once. In all seriousness, the place was lovely.

Love you,

Wonderful antique home on a main route!

Highly recommended. Wonderful antique home on a main route, easy to find. The suite has 2 comfortable rooms, huge closet, light-filled windows, and private half bath. Thoughtfully equipped with mini frig, coffee maker, microwave, shampoos, area books and guides and more. Katrina was always welcoming and interesting to talk to. Use of the washer, dryer, 2 shared baths, huge well-equipped kitchen, family rooms, and yard was encouraged. Katrina's boys were incredibly polite and quiet. Katrina went beyond being hospitable numerous times, even making a fireplace fire and delicious home-made bread for me.

Great place for holidays!

We came in 2019 here with Christmas movies and wine. Sarah finished her grad school application for University of Washington and we also had a chance to play some games as a family from your collection. We got to play on the Nintendo classic we brought along especially honing our skills at Dr. Mario.

We had a really great time in Winterport!

We had a really great time in Winterport. Katrina was super helpful and responsive, and her house was lovely. The only part we questioned was how many personal things were in the house, especially the bedrooms. It seems like this is a full time home for the family, and that was a little unexpected, but nonetheless, everything was comfortable and clean.

Such a great historic place!

Such a great place! I love seeing historic buildings being used and treated with such great care. The Crooked Steeple apartment was very cozy and quiet. All the thoughtful features and parks were truely appreciated! Katrina was a very good host and made some great suggestions for local attractions. I hope we have the opportunity to stay at the Crooked Steeple again soon.

Winterport's 52nd Annual Live Nativity

We are so excited to help host Winterport's 52nd Live Nativity Pageant, taking place Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13th and 14th, at the Winterport Union Meeting House at 7 p.m. both days. This is the 52nd consecutive year of this portrayal and it is a wonderful way to celebrate the Christmas season. This wonderful community event is free and allows the audience to participate by singing well-known Christmas Carols during the narration. It's a Christmas experience not to be missed!

Crooked Steeple Hall will provide a fire, along with tea, hot chocolate, coffee, and assorted baked goods for attendees. Donations for the Winterport Union Meeting House and our #savethesteeple campaign will be gratefully accepted.

If you or anyone you know would like to help or participate in the Nativity, please call Mark Fitzpatrick at 207-223-4967. If you would like to help set up the fire or provide food or warm drinks, contact Katrina Petersen at katrina@crookedsteeplehall.com or 207-404-0548.

All are welcome! RSVP on Eventbrite: Winterport's 52nd Annual Live Nativity

Katrina is a great host! Will stay here again!

Great location because you are a quick drive to hikes, farm stands, shops and restaurant options but Winterport itself feels very tucked away. You have a winery/brewery, 2 restaurants and a gas station that has decent pizza hahhaha what more could you ever ask for! It was GREAT! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. They are great hosts who do the little things to make you feel welcome!

Behind-the-Scenes: Meet Nicole, our Design Director

Wonder what it takes to create a beautiful brand with images that work together and form a whole? I’ll tell you the secret, it’s not do-it-yourself apps on your phone or a homegrown web template that you mess around with late at night. Those are great for spicing up an image for a social media post, but unfortunately, they can’t replace the years of training and experience a designer has. This is a lesson I learned and one that took me several years to fully embrace.

After some painful learning that I although I can do anything, I can’t do EVERYTHING well, Nicole has become an integral part of Crooked Steeple Hall. In order to move my business forward, I have to focus on the things I am good at while letting my partners handle their area of expertise. As a business owner, it’s easy to get caught up in small details that become huge time sucks. It also takes a while to meet and collaborate with the people who meet your business needs, that you can learn from, and trust to independently handle the tasks you set out for them.

I’m so lucky to have found the wonderful and talented Nicole DeBrocky-Fusfeld. After being introduced by a mutual friend in 2016, we’ve been working together ever since, heading into our fourth year of partnership. Her amazing eye and ability to coordinate our design projects make her an incredible partner. When Nicole takes on a project, she puts her heart and soul into it. The best part about partnering with Nicole is that her attention to detail ensures a perfect (and yes, I do mean perfect) end product every time.

Whether it’s designing a brand theme, a logo, a website, or a design concept for a brand new space - Coming soon: Vestry! I trust her implicitly to take my crazy, scattered ideas and turn them into something beautiful. Nicole delivers her vision for a project, yet she’s not rigid. She is very willing to incorporate client feedback without missing a beat, which can be a rare trait. She’s extremely patient with me when I get bogged down in detail that’s better left to her trained eye. At this point in our partnership, I can throw out some general ideas and Nicole blows me away with the results every time.

What a cute, unique place!

Thank you so much for having us in your home. What a cute, unique, sweet place! We really felt at home and we appreciated the kind touches (chocolate, coffee, snacks). We loved exploring the area and having a quiet space to come back to. We are already planning a return trip!

Cosy, Nice Historic House

Katrina,
You have a cosy, nice historic house. Sleeping in your super Kingsize bed was very comfortable. We also had a great pleasure to meet you and talk with you with a glass of wine. So staying here will take place in our good souvenirs. We just expect better weather.

Thank you
